My friends... you asked the questions and I got the answers for my girl Tamera!!!!
I loved shooting my dear friend who also happens to be my hair lady. I have known Tamera for years and if you were to ask me to describe her I would have to say...
funny, loyal, a leader, an example to other woman, always challenging herself to be better, great mama and a wonderful friend.
I am so excited for this new chapter and I can't wait to see this business to evolve into something I know is going to be a game changer for Salons in Spokane!!!
What do you wish someone would of told you about starting your own business?
I really wish I would of known before taking on this business adventure was all about "the challenges"
What will your salon offer that will be different than any other salon in Spokane?
The Mix is Spokane’s newest salon and spa located in the newly developed Ponderosa Village in the Spokane Valley. This unique location offers a vacation like atmosphere with restaurants such as TT’s Iron brew house, Craft and Gathers and Hello Sugar nearby. We have opportunities for stylists and barbers, offer massage therapy, Esthetician services, and much more! With being 2nd on the Ponderosa Community survey for desired businesses, your growth potential is unlimited while pulling from democratically larger then Liberty Lake.
Why did you want to open your own business?
I have been a hairstylist for little over 14yrs. I have helped 3 of my friends open successful salons and figured it was time to open up one of my own. I’m excited at this opportunity to give back and create opportunities in this industry that has been so amazing for me.
What is your history in hair? Where did you start and where do you want to go?
I LOVED wigs as a child!! From my moms full red headed Long ones to short brown curly to Bobby pin pieces (this particular brown one looked best in the reflection of the sun shadow while riding horses because My natural hair color was auburn) I felt so comfortable with change! I loved how I could get into character with these wigs, but that phase came to an end when I was made to believe I swallowed them in my sleep, by my mom lol! They had gotten pretty nappy.. so Perms, pixies, rat tails and extension to bleach caps it became. I was know in High school as the friend who would glam, color and style and tweeze my friends, boys and girls. It always made my heart happy to see the confidence in my friends eyes and the seriousness of the “duck lip”look they would give themselves, as they would see the finished look I could create to accelerate there “beauty”and “sharpness” as I will say “you are stunning, fabulous, etc.. or You are Looking MINT” I believe that a little pick me up with confidence can open opportunities. I see myself as a friend and person who thrives to stand behind you in your dreams and adventure to believe in the process! We got this!!!
